There Is Hope

Lots of Other Human Resource Professionals are Getting Out
"It amazed me that my own HR department had some of the lowest morale in the entire company. Shouldn't we be the ones setting the example?" - Rachel M., Ventura, CA

"I thought I was going to be helping employees meet their career goals. Instead, I found myself dealing with never-ending lay-offs and a frightening amount of attitude." - John R., Rosemead, CA

It's Okay to Move On
Many HR professionals feel a deep sense of responsibility and commitment to their organizations and employee populations. Typical motivators for entering the field are a sincere desire to be useful to others and create a positive impact.

We can feel a profound sense of guilt at the idea of "abandoning" the people we work with and for and this can prevent us from moving on. If we didn't care, we would not have gotten into this field. But at some point, we need to accept that our commitment to our own personal happiness is just as important.
